Junior Membership

Feeling inspired? Here at Epsom Hockey Club we run a thriving juniors section. The aims are quite simple:

“To develop children, players, between the ages of 4 and 17 in the in the game of hockey. To improve equally the skills of all players, whatever their standard.”

We group children by ability within broad age categories as this allows us to better tailor the coaching to the group as a whole and to each child. Each season we spend the first three weeks of the season assessing the groups. Following this each broad age category still trains as a group at the same time, but within we split into ability sessions. This hopefully allows all to train with their peer group but whilst matching ability. We continually assess the children and their performances compared to their peers. This assessment exercise particularly applies across the age bands from 4 to 11 and, for girls, 12 to 14, when they start 11-a-side and which experience shows is too early for some.

Mini Festivals involving other clubs take place throughout the season for the younger age groups and there are 11-a-side league and friendly matches for the older juniors.

Subscriptions

We have reviewed our subscription rates and to balance income and costs we need to increase our membership rates to ensure that the club remains financially viable. We have tried to keep the increase to a minimum.

 For the 2026/2027 season, the subscription rates will be as follows:

Junior Playing Membership

U10 and up £310

U6 and U8s £150

Juniors who play both Junior and Senior hockey pay the junior rate and will be eligible to pay reduced match fees for senior hockey.

Family Membership Cap (upon application) £1,030 - Includes any combination of parents and children to cover memberships for both adults and children.

 As with previous seasons, there will be a sibling discount available (on request) of £10 for families with 2 or more children. 

In addition, in recognition of the costs involved with purchasing and maintaining goalkeeper kit, we will be offering reduced subs of just £45 per season for all goalkeepers who own and maintain their own kit. If you would like to take advantage of this offer please email Torben Andersen.

Subs will be applied to your Teamo account in mid August and can either be paid in one payment or can be spread over 6 months.

Please note that all U16s and younger must be registered in the Junior section of the Club and pay Junior Membership fees

NEW JUNIOR MEMBERS

New members may have 2 x free trial sessions, but these must be in consecutive weeks. Thereafter, first payment must be made before joining any further training sessions or matches

EXISTING JUNIOR MEMBERS
