Ladies 1s beat Teddington 2-0

This week saw an improved performance from the ladies 1s, who recorded a much needed 2-0 win over Teddington in their second game back from the snow extended Christmas break.

It was a closer game than the score line reflects, with Teddington coming close to equalising at points. A great performance by goalie Charlotte Ellison kept Teddington out – special note must be made of the short corner that was stopped by Charlotte catching the ball in the crook of her neck!

Goals came from Jude King and Penny Woods. Woodsie’s hard work all game was topped of by the goal she scored on the reverse, in the air, whilst charging towards the back post and won her Man of the Match. By contrast Jude only managed to get herself fined after commenting that Marks broken wheel on his suitcase full of hockey balls was like a metaphor for the team…

Back on track after a long time away from the league, the ladies 1s are now siting in 4th place in South Div 1. They play Reading away next weekend and will be looking for another three points to start chasing 3rd place!
