So far this season, every time we had played Spencer whether it was a friendly or a league match we had drawn, so today was the day to change that. After the pre-match hail storm, we set about trying to set the tempo of the match. We started off well but soon Spencer took control of the match, defence worked well together keeping the communication going whilst the opposition forwards moved and switched positions. Unfortunately, Spencer scored two open goals before the half time whistle.
After the jelly baby break, we came out with more confidence and tighter play. The Second half proved as well to be very colourful, with 3 yellow cards shown. At one point Spencer were down to 9 players, but we were unable to convert our advantage into a goal. We were better and more accurate with our passing, our press from the front and supporting each other when attacking. The forward line were more aggressive, all making great runs with/out the ball. Cat and Collette were both very effective on the left hand wing, supporting each other, helping the ball to come from the defence up to the forwards. Our defensive short corners were effective, with no goals conceded.
Well done to Vicky for getting M.O.M. For our next match, lets aim to convert the chances that we get and keep our heads up, even when things are not going our way.
